Photos from Christmas Day with Margaret and Colin, and Boxing Day with Sue and Andrew.

We spent a day exploring the distinctive streets and canals of the city, many of the buildings looked like they were straight out of the Playmobil range.

The Christmas market along with the Belgian food and beer were some of the highlights of the trip.

Budapest

We went over to Budapest to visit Charlie and Tünde and to meet Emili for the first time. While there we did some sightseeing in the city, including a visit to the Zoo Café.

The Hungarians love their water parks, and we visited two while we were there - Római near to Charlie and Tünde's, and Palatinus on Margit Island in the centre of the city.

We had a great day kayaking up the Danube, stopping to have lunch at a small café upstream.

I went with Kirstie and William to Kew Gardens to see Dale Chihuly's glass sculptures.

We had a very active time at Center Parcs. The tame wildlife was a highlight, as was the nine hole golf course.

A lot of time was spent in the pool, and we also booked lots of other activities, some pictured here.

The Cotswolds

Emma's birthday party this year was a Victorian themed murder mystery party.

Kirstie and I got away to the Cotswolds for a weekend, staying in a pub with delicious food. The centre point of the visit was a hilly ten mile walk that we did from Stanton, looping round through Snowshill and Stanway.

We had a couple of walks in Breakwater Country Park plus a trip to Beaumaris during our Easter visit to Rhoscolyn.

A morning at the Saatchi Gallery after the boys broke up for Easter.

We had a quick half-term city break, spending a couple of nights in Nottingham.
