Photos from another great Christmas, with Sue and Andrew staying for the day itself, a trip to Hatfield Peverel afterwards, and then a visit from Teresita, Scott and Sophie.

We had a relaxing week in Anglesey during October half term.

As always there were plenty of activities on the beach at Wembury.

We also packed in an excellent lunch at Langdon Court, and plenty of walks along the headland.

Given the weather there was plenty of time spent on the beach and out in the bay when we visited Rhoscolyn with Sue, Andrew, Charlie and Tünde this year.

Moscow

There were many jellyfish, no doubt a result of the hot summer.

I went to Moscow for England's World Cup semi-final against Croatia. While the result of the match disappointed, it was certainly an interesting trip.

The day after the match I had a few hours before my flight to walk through Red Square and around the Kremlin.

USA Road Trip

For his fiftieth, Rob wanted to go on a road trip similar to the one he, Matt and a couple of others did after working at Camp America thirty years or so prior. The 2018 version was 8 nights in an RV, and I was invited along. Our first stop was Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota.

The grassland flora and fauna was fascinating.

Our next major stop was Badlands National Park.

Hiking was hot work, but the scenery made it well worth it.

We spent a couple of days in the Black Hills. Apart from the rodeo, the main attraction we visited there was Mount Rushmore.

It turned out that the Black Hills Roundup was on in the town of Belle Fourche while we were around. Rodeo events are put on for five days surrounding the 4th of July holiday weekend. We went to the Ranch Rodeo on the Saturday night.

Two of the most spectacular events are Wild Cow Milking and, of course, the Bronc Ride.

The final segment of our trip was through northern Wyoming, to see Devils Tower and to drive over the steep sided Bighorn Mountain range.

Colin's Eightieth

For her seventieth birthday celebrations Sheila rented Portland House, an amazing 1930s Mediterranean villa style house in Weymouth.

Perfect weather meant that we all enjoyed a lot of time outdoors.

Colin had his eightieth birthday do on a sunny afternoon in Hatfield Peverel.

Our long weekend at the cottage was Amber's first visit to Anglesey.

I took William and a couple of his friends to Warhammer World in Nottingham for his birthday.
