Near the start of the fjord it divides into three channels sitting between two 25 mile long mountainous islands
We saw a few other boats, but the water was mostly completely empty
There were lots of waterfalls
We stopped near this one to fish
The water was packed with cod, once you drop the line about 40m down and raise it again you are almost guaranteed a catch
This was the first of a handful that I caught
Heading to Qooqqut, which is on a side channel, for dinner
No one lives here permanently now, but there are some summer cabins used mostly by locals for hunting and fishing trips
We docked at the small jetty
The restaurant - Qooqqut Naan - open in the summer for visitors by boat like us
Preparing the fish
I think I caught the big one on top
Fish soup starter
The main: our cod was cooked three different ways
Heading back. It is the second largest fjord system in the world (the largest being in East Greenland) - we only saw a fraction of it.
Our boat was fast, but this other one was faster
Wake
This peak is about 1,100m high, just above the elevation of Snowdon - some of the peaks are over 1,600m
